By 2010, I joined Rossari Biotech, overseeing national sales of sewing thread lubricants. However, it was my return to Ichalkaranji in 2012 that sparked a transformative idea. I decided to modernize our family’s textile business, established in 1983, and launch Kirnik Group.
Founded in 2012 by Krishnavatar Lohiya, Kirnik Group has emerged as a pioneering force in the textile commodity trading sector. Based in Ichalkaranji, often referred to as the “Manchester of Maharashtra,” our company specializes in trading yarn, fabric, chemicals, and consultancy services. Our roots in this textile hub have enabled us to leverage local expertise and resources, driving our growth and innovation.
From the outset, Kirnik Group has prioritized sustainability, seeking eco-friendly products and services to integrate into our operations. This commitment has been the backbone of our business model since our inception. Initially focusing on rainwater harvesting, we started with small projects that generated modest revenue, with invoices averaging ₹4,000. However, our dedication and hard work led to exponential growth. By 2016, our invoices soared to ₹40,000, and in 2024, we proudly recorded an impressive ₹3,900,000.
What began as rainwater harvesting for bungalows and apartments in our local area has expanded significantly. Today, we serve six districts, including Kolhapur, Sangli, Belgaum, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, and Satara. Our reputation for excellence in sustainable practices has attracted new clients, leading us to diversify into solar energy. In 2016, we completed our first solar project—a 325 kW installation at Hatkanangle—where we operated as dealers and coordinators. Fast forward to 2024, and we now fully manage the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) roles for solar projects.
At Kirnik Group, we are committed to creating a sustainable future through innovative solutions in textiles, rainwater harvesting, and solar energy. Join us on our journey toward a greener tomorrow.
